What Is Repricing?
Repricing is HippoLink's automated pricing engine. It lets you write rules that adjust your card prices based on real-time market data — so you stay competitive without manually updating thousands of listings.
The Core Idea
Every repricing rule follows the same structure:
IF a listing matches certain conditions, THEN set its price based on a source you choose.
For example:
IF the card is Near Mint THEN set the price to TCGPlayer's lowest listing.
That's it. You define which cards the rule applies to (the IF section) and what the new price should be (the THEN section). HippoLink handles the rest.
Why It Matters
If you run a TCG store, you already know the problem. Market prices shift constantly — sometimes multiple times a day. New set releases, buyouts, rotation announcements, and seasonal trends all move prices. Keeping up by hand isn't realistic once your inventory passes a few hundred SKUs.
Repricing rules let you:
- Stay competitive — automatically match or undercut market prices across TCGPlayer, Card Kingdom, ManaPool, and CardTrader.
- Protect your margins — set price floors so you never sell below cost, and ceilings so you don't overshoot.
- Move stale inventory — gradually discount cards that haven't sold, without cratering their price overnight.
- Price confidently on new releases — set rules based on rarity, finish, and set code so prices land correctly from day one.
How Rules Work Together
You can create as many rules as you need. The system evaluates them top to bottom — the first rule whose conditions match a listing wins, and no further rules are checked for that listing.
This means rule order matters. Put your most specific rules first (e.g., "NM foils from Modern Horizons 3") and your broadest catch-alls last (e.g., "all NM cards").
The Rule Builder Interface
The repricing page is built around a three-panel layout:

| Panel | Location | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Rule List | Left | Lists all your rules in priority order. Drag to reorder. |
| Rule Canvas | Center | Where you build and edit the selected rule's conditions and actions. |
| Component Palette | Right | Draggable condition blocks you can drop onto the canvas. |
At the bottom of the page, a footer bar shows your save status and provides buttons to save, discard, or run your rules.
Who Can Access Repricing
Repricing is available on the Pro plan and requires the owner or manager role. If you don't see it in your sidebar, check with your store owner about plan and role settings.
