Setting the Price

The THEN section defines what happens when a listing matches a rule's conditions. The core of every THEN section is the Set Price block — it determines the base price before any adjustments.

Set Price Modes

The Set Price block supports three modes. You switch between them using the toggle buttons at the top of the block.

Set Price mode toggles

Single Variable

The default mode. Pick one price source from the dropdown, and the listing's price is set to that value.

Set Price in Single Variable mode

When to use: Most rules. If you know which market source you want to track, this is the simplest option.

Example: Set your price to match TCGPlayer's lowest listing for Near Mint cards.

First Defined (Fallback Chain)

Market data isn't always available. TCGPlayer might not have a listing for an obscure promo. Card Kingdom might not carry a particular set.

First Defined lets you list multiple price sources in order of preference. The system uses the first one that has data, skipping any that are unavailable.

Set Price in First Defined mode

To use it:

  1. Click First Defined in the mode toggle.
  2. The first dropdown shows your primary source (e.g., TCGPlayer Low NM).
  3. Click Add fallback to add a second source (e.g., Card Kingdom Retail NM).
  4. Add more as needed. The last entry can be a fixed price as a final safety net.

The numbered list (1, 2, 3…) shows the priority. Source 1 is tried first. If it has no data, source 2 is tried, and so on.

When to use: When you sell a diverse inventory that spans multiple marketplaces and you can't guarantee data from any single source.

Example: Try TCGPlayer Low first, then Card Kingdom Retail, then fall back to $0.99.

Fixed Price

Sets every matching listing to a specific dollar amount, regardless of market data.

Set Price in Fixed Price mode

When to use: Catch-all rules for bulk inventory, clearance pricing, or cards with no reliable market data.

Example: Set all commons to $0.25.

The dropdown lists all price variables available from connected marketplaces. Here's a summary:

What's Next

The base price from Set Price is just the starting point. You can fine-tune it further with:

  • Adjust, Limit & Guard — undercut by a percentage, set floors and ceilings, and protect against sudden swings.
